Chie's Famous Wonton's

If you have ever been to one of our family functions, you have probably had Grandma Chie's famous Wonton's. They are so easy and delicious!

I had to have the recipe because they are so yummy and I got her permission to share with everyone. I suggest making a double batch! Enjoy!
Total Servings: 10-12 Total Cost: $4.00

1 lb Ground Pork

1 Package Wonton Wrappers (In produce section top shelf)

1 Green onion
1 Egg

1 Can Water Chestnuts
2 tsp of Cornstarch
1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder or Diced Garlic

1/2 tsp White Pepper

1/2 tsp of Salt

Peanut or Canola Oil

  • Dice your Water Chestnuts and Green onion very small
  • In a bowl combine all ingredients, except oil and wrappers
  • Mix really well until completely blended, or mix with your hands
  • Take your wrappers and lay them flat one at a time
  • Have a little bowl of water to wet fingers
  • Wet the edge lightly of the wonton with your fingers
  • Place approx 1 tsp of mixture in center of wonton
  • Fold over like a triangle and push edges together
  • Once all of them are filled
  • Heat approx 1/2 cup oil in skillet to medium heat
  • Place wonton's in oil
  • Flip over when side turns brown
  • When other side is brown place on plate with paper towel
  • Continue process until all are made
  • Serve with Light soy sauce or mix Hot Mustard and light soy sauce

  1. These are my favorite things in the whole world. Certainly not healthy, but the best comfort food ever. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the recipe leaving the family :)
