Nice Maragrita!

This recipe is compliments of Josh...he made this for me last night, and it was delicious! So I thought I would share it with you to go with your nice cookout menu.

This is a nice and easy, Margarita recipe to kick off the summer.
(All liquid measures below are to fill a pint glass,
adjust accordingly for more showy yet smaller volume glassware):

2.5 ounces 100% Blue Agave Tequila (I prefer Patron)
1.5 ounces Cointreau (replace with Triple Sec to save some dough)
1 medium lime, cut in half
1 medium orange, cut in half
Coarse salt for glass rim (optional)
.5 ounce Grand Marnier (if desired, as a float)
Paper Towel, folder in half twice and placed on a plate
Pint Glass
Tin Shaker
  • Fill pint glass with ice all the way to the top
  • Pour Tequila & Cointreau into pint glass
  • Squeeze both lime halves into pint glass, careful not letting seeds fall in
  • Squeeze both orange halves into pint glass, careful not letting seeds fall in
  • Pour contents of pint glass into tin shaker
  • Press pint glass into top of tin shaker to form a seal and shake vigorously
  • Loosen pint glass & shaker and pull apart, leaving liquid & ice in tin shaker
  • Pour some Cointreau or Triple Sec out of bottle onto folded paper towel until slightly saturated
  • Dip pint glass onto paper towel and then into salt to line rim
  • Pour contents of tin shaker into pint glass
  • Drizzle Grand Marnier float onto top of pint glass
  • Drink & Enjoy
